World GameMaster Competition (WGT) adalah kompetisi game internasional yang dilaksanakan di 26 negara mencakup Afrika, Asia, Australia, Eropa, dan Amerika Utara serentak mulai dari pertengahan tahun 2006. Dan Indonesia terpilih sebagai satu dari dua Negara di Asia Tenggara yang akan menyelenggarakan WGT tahun ini.

WGT, sebagai salah satu kompetisi game terbesar pada tahun 2006, telah memilih ASUSTek Computer Inc. (ASUS), perusahaan pemimpin motherboard dan kartu grafis, sebagai penyedia seluruh hardware PC, selain itu ada Intel sebagai otak komputasi PC dan ATi sebagai penyedia platform grafis.

Untuk pertama kali dalam sejarah game, para gamer terbaik se-Indonesia dapat bertarung memakai perangkat terbaik dari ASUS, Intel, dan ATi memainkan beberapa game terbaik tahun ini di Indonesia : FIFA World Cup 2006, Warcraft DotA, Pangya, dan Gun Bound.

WGT akan dimulai dari bulan Juli sampai November 2006 di empat kota besar di Indonesia; Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung, dan Medan. Pembukaan dan konferensi pers dari WGT Indonesia akan diadakan di Mal Kelapa Gading III (area center court). Berikut adalah jadwal pelaksanaan WGT di Indonesia.

28 – 30 Juli 2006 --> Jakarta @ Center Court, Mall Kelapa Gading III
15 – 16 Agustus 2006 --> Surabaya @ Xeon Game Center
6 – 7 Oktober 2006 --> Bandung @ Internet Café
13 – 14 November 2006 --> Medan @ Internet Café

Total hadiah adalah 100 juta rupiah dan berbagai produk lainnya.

Sebenarnya ada rencana sih di Yogyakarta..
Tapi berhubung kondisi saat ini belum memungkinkan jadinya dipindahkan ke Bandung..
