A small corner of the Internet pointed out that the Xbox 360 Spring Update boasted a special

feature -- the ability to clear the cache on the Xbox 360.

Here's how: "Go to the system blade and then memory. Press Y on either the HDD or a MU and then

press X,X,Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X,X. Once you do this a blade will pop up saying: This will

perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices. Do you want to continue? Pick yes or no."

We asked Microsoft about this feature, what exactly the button combination does and what purpose

it serves -- here's what they told us: "The HDD cache clearing feature is a part of the Xbox 360

technical support process and is only supported in those instances. While the cache clearing

operation will not harm or render your console inoperable, it should only be used when instructed

by the Microsoft customer support staff. As always, any gamers experiencing issues with their

console should contact 800-4-MYXBOX instead of attempting to troubleshoot on their own via this

feature."

I can provide a little more context on this. Clearing out your system cache:
* Will clear out the temporary copies of achievements and gamertiles on Memory Units or Hard

Drives (note these get re-downloaded when re-connected to Xbox Live)
* Will clear out Game Updates stored on Memory Units or Hard Drives. (note these will get

re-downloaded when launching that Game while connected to Xbox Live)
* Will not clear out system updates.
* Will not clear out the game areas of the hard drive where game titles cache their own

information

oya ada cara lain yg simple:
open tray, masukin cd, tekan A utk close tray, tekan A lg sampai masuk game nya.
tp cara yg resmi yg diatas X,X,LB,RB,X,X lebih keliatan ada tulisannya utk perform maintenance.

oblivion yg awalnya loading 10mnt++ skr cuma 30 detik
untung blom gue buang tuh game gara2 kesel di loading

Btw, koq bisa loading Oblivionnya sampe 10 menit ya, di tempat gw paling 2 menit ato 3 menit

mo nanya nih bro, sewaktu kita tekan x,x,LB,RB,x,x kan muncul pertanyaan "ingin melakukan maintenance?" setelah ok apakah ada progress bar yang menunjukkan kalo sekarang sedang maintenance seperti bar loading gitu? soalnya punya saya setelah di ok langsung selesai dalam hitungan detik, n ga ada progress bar nya.

kalo kecepatan loadingnya tetep aq rasa. Bedanya gini, kalo cache udah penuh, udah maen banyak game, loadingnya jadi lambat (lebih lambat dari biasanya). Nah itu perlu di clear cache, jadi cepetnya bisa seperti semula. Kalo ngga ntar gamenya bisa nyandet2 or loadingnya kelewatan lamanya
