Talking Kesimpulan kenapa PS3 belum bisa di hack - 07-09-08, 20:37
Michael Steil (Mist) dan Felix Domke (tmbinc) di akhir acara Google Tech Talks berjudul "The Xbox 360 Security System and its Weaknesses" menunjukkan berbagai console dan apa alasanya di hack.

mulai dari PS2 yang nggak jelas untuk apa di hack tapi akhirnya berujung ke pembajakan.
GameCube yang di hack demi homebrew tapi ujung ujungnya dipake tuk piracy juga.
Xbox 1 yang di hack demi homebrew dan linux, dan berujung piracy.
Xbox 360 yang di hack demi homebrew dan linux, tetapi malah gagal di homebrew dan berujung piracy.

PS3 yang sampe sekarang belum di hack.

kenapa PS3 belum jebol sekuritinya? padahal PS3 memiliki sistem sekuriti hypervisor yang sangat mirip dengan Xbox 360.

Itu karena SONY telah memberi kebebasan kepada orang orang homebrew (hacker baik ) kebebasan untuk menginstall, men-port aplikasi dan OS favorit mereka untuk jalan di PS3 dengan disediakannya "OTHER OS".

dalam hacking ada kubu yangh nge hack demi homebrew (the good guy) dan nge hek demi jalanin bajakan (the bad guy).

dalam hal ini, SONY dengan OTHER OS nya telah berhasil membuat hacker baik nggak tertarik untuk nge jebol sekuriti PS3. Karena dengan OTHER OS, mereka sudah bisa melakukan banyak hal di PS3.

jadi sistem proteksi paling jitu adalah, beri orang kebebasan untuk melakukan apa aja dengan console nya.

ingat gw jamanya PS2, di hack demi homebrew

gw aja PS2 gw udah setahun ini lebih sering gw pake jalanin homebrew daripada main bajakan.

kalo X360 ga bs jalanin hoebrew sih, jadi yah bajakan aje huahahahhahah

menu OTHER OS di PS3 itu menu dimana kamu bisa enginstall OS LAIN selian PS3 OS.

bebas, mau windows, Mac OS, Linux, BeOS, cem macem bebas, asal OS tersebut udah di port ke arsitektur PowerPC CELL PS3.

sayangnya, SONY membatasi hak akses OTHER OS, dalam mode OTHER OS kamu nggak bisa mendapat hak akses ke RSX (vga nya ps3).

maanya lumayan seru ajang hacking RSX

dulu pernah sukses,
dapat hak akses penuh RSX di linux

tapi ini langsung di patch SONY dgn FW update.

abis itu loyo lage hacking scene ps3 linux.

mereka kebanyakan udah merasa "lumayan" dengan kemampuan 3D rendering CELL.
udah cukup buat main Tux Racer >_<

jadi yah semangat nge hek RSX tuk Linux semakin loyo.........


ini saya ga punya PS3 tapi kenapa saya baca2 heking PS3 yah ......... asem asem asem
