Microsoft Windows codename 'Vienna' di 2009 - 17-02-07, 02:48

Microsoft Corp. mempersiapkan OS baru mereka yang akan diluncurkan kemungkinan di tahun 2009 (akhir). Tahun lalu (2006), Microsoft membocorkan bahwa nama OS setelah Vista adalah "Vienna", "We've been told not to use it publicly," Ben Fathi, Corporate Vice President of Development in Microsoft's Windows Core Operating System Division.

Lalu, feature Vienna ini akan seperti apa? Ben Fathi berkomentar, "Kita sedang mengerjakan bagian fundamental OS untuk mendukung teknologi terkini dan mungkin di masa beberapa kurun waktu ke depan. Mungkin ini bisa Hypervisors, saya tidak begitu paham tentang ini, mungkin semacam User Interface yang baru. Terlalu cepat membicarakannya sekarang, mungkin beberapa bulan ke depan kalian dapat menggambarkan Vienna itu seperti apa".

Longhorn itu dulu codename buat Vista, dan Blackcomb disebut sebagai pengganti Longhorn, kalo nggak salah begitu. So, emang Vista sebelum dirilis bahkan udah direncanakan penggantinya.

Mungkin..
Biar Microsoft dapet masukan dana baru untuk developing next-gen OS dengan mengeluarkan Vista sebagai umpan.

Blackcomb mungkin salah satu varian Vista atau Vienna itu sendiri.
