Windows 7 Milestone 1 Ultimate edition sudah hadir. Walau memang belum bisa dipastikan apakah ini palsu atau benar, tapi beberapa pihak dari developer windows memang mengiyakan bahwa ini adalah versi M1 dari windows 7.

Beberapa implementasi baru seperti Powershell yang dijanjikan ada pada Windows 7 memang sudah di integrasikan. Beberapa user sudah mendownload Windows 7 ini, dan telah mencoba sendiri bagaimana Windows 7 ini. Kernel yang diperbaharui menjadikan Windows 7 lebih ringan daripada Vista. Dan seharusnya, beragam fitur terbaru, salah satunya dukungan touchscreen multi touch yang pernah kita lihat dalam preview Microsoft Surface.

Pada video dibawah ini dan beberapa screenshot, sumber dari ThinkNext mengatakan bahwa semua ini adalah asli. Mengenai boleh dipublikasikan oleh Microsoft, tidak diketahui. Yang jelas, sampai sekarang Microsoft tidak berang menghadapi adanya berita ini, berarti kemungkinan besar memang Microsoft sedang mengembangkannya.

Digunakanannya interface yang mirip Windows Vista karena Windows 7 masih dalam milestone 1. Pada tahap ini sudah bagus jika kita sudah bisa melihat interface yang menarik walaupun sekedar dummy. Mulai dari bootscreen sampai pengoperasian didalamnya, beberapa masih sama dengan windows Vista tapi banyak juga yang sudah berubah. Dari beberapa video yang dirilis, resizeable search box dan pin able start menu tanpa right click bukan lah fitur Vista.

Windows 7 M1 akan hangus pada May 2008. Beberapa user terpilih dapat mendownload versi ini untuk tahap pengembangan dan feedback. Masih tidak percaya bahwa Windows 7 sedang dikembangkan ? Demi bukti otentik, ThinkNext bahkan menunjukkan bocoran video nya.
