windows xp KB925902 - 09-05-07, 11:15
bulan april 2007 ini microsoft mengeluarkan patch tunggal yang biasanya setiap bulan keluar berupa kumpulan patch. hal ini karena patch KB925902 dianggap critical.
patch yang dirilis seminggu lebih awal dari jadwal biasanya ini, memperbaiki beberapa hal yang berkenaan dengan windows GDI (Graphics Device Interface) yang berfungsi menangani tampilan grafis monitor dan printer, seperti tampilan kurva,grafis,huruf,warna dll.
salah satu yang rentan dan menjadi faktor utama penyebab keluarnya patch file .ani. File ini berguna sebagai kursor berbentuk animasi (seperti animasi jam gelas ketika windows sedang loading). terdapat laporan bahwa lubang keamanan tersebut sudah dijelajahi oleh hacker terlebih dahulu, sebelum rilis ini dikeluarkan.
jika tidak melakukan patch pada sistem, hal yang diincar hacker adalah ketika anda mengetikkan sesuatu pada keyboard, seperti password atau rekening bank, maka hasil penyadapan tersebut akan dikirimkan kembali langsung ke hacker.
untuk menjadi perhatian bahwa patch ini hanya diperuntukkan pada windows xp. Update untuk IE, Office, atau produk Microsoft lainnya tidak termasuk pada patch ini.
