Rematik (artritis) adalah istilah populer untuk menyebut berbagai gangguan yang menyebabkan rasa sakit dan kekakuan pada otot dan sendi. Selain menyerang orang dewasa, rematik juga menyerang anak-anak di bawah usia 16 tahun. Salah satu jenisnya yang terkenal adalah juvenil rematoid artritis atau rematik remaja. Kelainan terjadi pada jaringan ikat di persendian yang disertai nyeri, peradangan dan kekakuan (pembatasan gerak bagian yang sakit).


jenis-2 rematik ada 3 :


1. Rematik Oligoartikular
Rematik ini menyerang sedikit sendi atau sekitar empat sendi besar (misalnya pergelangan kaki, bahu). Di Amerika Serikat, rematik jenis ini banyak menyerang anak balita dan kemudian menetap hingga dewasa.

2. Rematik Poliartikular
Penyakit ini menyerang lebih dari empat sendi atau sendi-sendi kecil, seperti pergelangan tangan, lutut, siku dan paha. Yang juga ikut diserang adalah pasangan sendi pada salah satu bagian tubuh. Misalnya, jika awalnya yang terkena sendi lutut kiri, lalu sendi lutut kanan pun terkena. Jenis ini hanya menyerang anak balita, yang sistem kekebalan tubuhnya masih belum optimal.

3. Rematik Sistemik
Kelainan sendi pada rematik ini acap tak seberapa. Yang dominan justru demamnya tinggi. Meski diberi antibiotika atau obat penurun demam, masih saja membandel. Selain itu, akan timbul bercak kemerahan pada daerah lengan, kaki, dada, perut, dan daerah di area tulang iga. Penderita juga akan kehilangan nafsu makan, berat badan menurun, dan anemia.
Gawatnya, semua ini memicu gangguan pada seluruh sistem di dalam tubuh. Akibatnya organ tubuh lain, seperti jantung dan hati, mengalami radang dan pembengkakan pula,


Rematik pada anak dan remaja sebetulnya tak bisa disembuhkan. Hanya bisa diredakan atau dikontrol. Sama seperti penyakit kencing manis. Tak pernah ada
