Nope..kita tidak membahas mesin (engine) mobil-mobil mewah di game Racedriver : GRID..

Studio pembuat game Racedriver : GRID yaitu Codemasters mengumumkan kerjasamanya Realtime Technology (RTT) untuk bersama-sama mengembangkan engine visual termutakhir.



Kerjasama antara keduanya akan meliputi bidang automobile modeling, rendering and realization projects. Juga termasuk penggunaan & pengembangan bersama dari teknologi RTT DeltaGen dan RealTrace Tools milik RTT serta EGO Engine milik Codemasters yang ke depannya akan memungkinkan proses rendering CAD (Computer-assisted Design) berjalan dengan mulus secara real-time.



Codemasters yang menggunakan EGO Engine untuk seri game balap terbaru mereka yaitu Racedriver : GRID dan game peperangan Operation Flashpoint : Dragon Rising, berharap dapat menyuguhkan kualitas grafis yang mendekati kualitas foto (photorealistic).



Di lain pihak, RTT yaitu perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang visualisasi 3D berharap dapat ikut merambah ke industri game setelah sebelumnya sukses mengerjakan visualisasi 3D bagi klien-kliennya di industri otomotif & pesawat terbang. Beberapa klien dari RTT yaitu Adidas, Airbus, Audi, BMW, Fiat, Ford, Opel, DaimlerChrysler, Dodge, EADS, Lamborghini, Lexus Maserati, Porsche, Mazda, Mercedes dan Volvo. Keterlibatan RTT meliputi tahap desain produk (virtual prototyping) hingga marketingnya (virtual marketing).



Kolaborasi antara Codemasters & RTT ini diharapkan mampu memberikan pengalaman bermain yang lebih menarik dan memenuhi hasrat para penggemar grafis game akan suguhan grafis yang mendekati kualitas foto (photorealistic).

temen2 yang suka desain make 3DsMax pasti tahu

nanti lah, bahas Ray Tracing di thread lain, secara saya juga mau bikin artikel GPGPU Larrabee dari Intel yang can do Ray Tracing ... wait n see aja di 2009
