Yep, nama retail untuk upcoming processor codename Nehame adalah Core i7. Hmm, kenapa enggak Core 3 aja ya, setelah Core 2 Duo gitu.

Core i7 akan memiliki jumlah core dari 2 hingga 8, dual core sampai dengan okta core. FSB menurut sumber, X-bit, yakni 1333MHz dengan triple channel DDR3. Hmm lambat laun DDR3 memang akan menggeser DDR2. Sepertinya Intel secara pelan namun pasti akan mendemokan "kegunaan" DDR3 di upcoming Core i7. Teringat waktu P4 atau Core Duo kurang bersinar dengan DDR2 tempo lalu? Hal itu langsung dibungkam Intel dengan Core 2 Duo. User yang mencintai latency ketat ala DDR1-pun akhirnya pelan namun pasti mengakui kehebatan DDR2. Akankah hal itu terulang? ya gak tahu lah ....

Kembali ke Core i7, Nehalem akan memiliki:
- L1 64KB (32KB data, 32KB instruksi)
- L2 256KB per core
- L3 8MB per core
processor ini aka mamakai teknis fabrikasi 45nm dengan 731Mill transistors.

Core i7 untuk desktop akan tersedia di pasaran paling lambat akhir tahun/Q4 2008 ini, dengan harga $999 untuk Nehalem 3.2GHz
