Video Card Review: Powercolor HD3850 PCS 512MB GDDR3


Powercolor, adalah produsen kartu grafis co-partner AMD/ATI yang kali ini hadir dengan produk kartu grafis HD3850 dengan paket yang menarik.

Powecolor HD3850 PCS ini adalah produk factory oced, atau telah dioverclock dari pabriknya yakni kecepatan core 720MHz dan kecepatan memory 900MHz (1800MHz effective) kapasitas 512MB, ditambah dengan Professional Cooling Solution dari ZEROTherm. Kartu grafis ini sebenarnya telah dirilis beberapa bulan yang lalu, tentu sekarang mudah dijumpai di pasaran.

RV670 Revival Graphic Unit Processor
RV670 Revival adalah chip grafis AMD HD3000 untuk brand HD3850. Mirip dengan kakaknya, RV670 Gladiator (HD3870), Revival memiliki 320 Stream Processor, 16 TMU dan 16 ROP serta memory interface 256bit. Yang membedakan tak lain adalah core clock, memory clock dan memory type. Kapasitas memory chip RV670 Revival adalah 256MB dengan type GDDR3.



What’s a big deal Powercolor memberikan suntikan 512MB dengan kombinasi core clock dan memory clock yang cukup menarik untuk diadu dengan kakaknya. Let’s move to the photos …..

Image quality sama persis dengan kakaknya, suguhan warna vibrance yang cantik. 512MB dengan speed factory oced cukup memacu HD3850 ini seperti varian Pro mengejar XT, GT mengejar GTS, XL mengejar GTO dan lain sebagainya.

Hasil di DX9 secara keseluruhan adalah baik.

Temperature and Noise
Pada stock clock (720/1800) dengan ambient room 29C idle di suhu 41C. Dan pada kondisi full load hanya mencapai 54C saja. ZEROTherm sangat efektif menjaga perilaku thermal dari core HD3850 dan hamper TIDAK bersuara

Wattage
HD3850 ini stabil di PSU 400W PSU *pure power. Untuk konfigurasi Crossfire, baik sesama HD3850 atau CF silang (3850+3870) disarankan untuk memakai PSU 600W ke atas.

Verdict
Produk dari Powercolor yang sangat baik ditinjau dari segi harga dan performa yang didapatkan. Ditujukan untuk segmen mainstream dengan gaming experience 1280x1024/1440x900.

Factory oced dan suntikan memory 512MB untuk HD3850 cukup membuatnya solid di performa. Tambahan solusi pendingin dari ZEROTherm ini membuat thermal dari HD3850 itu sendiri benar-benar terjaga pada kondisi dingin dan tenang.
