Went Well: NC-U6 (Northbridge cooler) - 07-05-08, 07:58

Pada dasarnya memang ingin mengganti HSF Northbridge P35 motherboard DFI LanParty DK P35T2RS yang memang sungguh panas apabila berada inside casing. Dalam casing tertutup rapat, di kamar NON-AC, bener-bener bikin gerah. Idle aja suhu chipset reported by SmartGuardian (software bawaan mobo DFI) udah 54C LoL ... full Load saat main game 60C lewat deh, errr. Bingung dan bingung, akhirnya hunting HSF Northbridge yang pilihan jatuh ke Noctua NC-U6.






Kenapa milih ini, ya cuma "asal mode" aja. Nah, sebelumnya HSF CPU saya adalah Noctua NH-U12P. HSF lumayan besar, namun tidak sebesar TRUX. Orientasi WAJIB Vertical, karena fan CPU harus berhembus ke belakang, keluar casing. Kali-kali karena satu merk, satu brand Noctua, mungkin ukurannya udah di-pas-in

Lay-out exisiting HSF CPU NH-U12P

Orientasi A: Vertical (airflow ke belakang keluar case)
Orientasi B: Horizontal (airflow ke atas keluar case, ato ke bawah arah VGA)

Kalo saya memakai orientasi Horizontal, tentu akan tidak maksimal airflownya, mengingat saya memakai casing (ordinary user eh?). Nah ... bisa gak nih masang Noctua NC-U6 jikalau NH-U12P orientasi Vertical??? Nah lho, nabrak-nabrak enggak? Langsung aja kita ke poto-poto. Pokoknya tujuannya: "Bagaimanakah supaya dan agar fan HSF CPU tetap berhembus ke luar belakang casing tanpa gangguan pemasangan HSF Northbridge" ... duh belepotan pembukanya

Yap, bisa memakai orientasi Vertical dengan kombinasi Noctua NH-U12P untuk CPU -yang ukurannya bisa dibilang gedhe- dengan Noctua NC-U6 untuk chipset Northbridge .... mepet tapi gak nabrak. Emang udah jodoh 1 pabrik

Quick Test and Comments

Casing ketutup rapet


Quick test ya, karena saya juga tidak berencana mereview secara detail maka langsung dan singkat saja. Dengan peripheral-peripheral seperti di bawah ini:
- Intel Xeon E3110
- DFI LanParty DK P35 T2RS
- Crucial Ballistix PC8500
- FSP Epsilon
- VGA, LCD, Soundcard, keyborad, mouse etc etc
- Noctua(s)


OCCT: MIX, FULL LOAD
Shot saat berjalan 1 jam kurang 5 menit (remaining: 5 minutes)



Statistic

* Ambient Room: 28C (NO AC)
* Ambient Case: 35C
* Noctua NC-U6: fanless (without fan)
* Inside the Case


Cukup mengasyikkan, aman terkendali di dalam casing yang ketutup rapet.

Pros NC-U6:
- Silent, NO fan
- Turun average 10C
- Jodoh banget ama Noctua NHU-12P buat yang sedang cari orientasi vertikal
*testbed dengan mobo DFI yang berlay-out sempit


Cons NC-U6:
- Harga agak mahal
