Valve bersama dengan EA merilis game anyar mereka di bulan Oktober lalu untuk platform
PC. Game Portal ini di-bundle bersama dengan paket The Orange Box yang fenomenal itu.

Valve mencoba memperkenalkan genre baru dalam dunia First Person Shooting, yaitu dengan menambahkan unsur Puzzle sebagai tema utamanya. Meneruskan kesuksesan serial Half-Life 2 dengan "Gravity Gun" yang memanfaatkan teknologi Physics, Portal berhasil mengimplementasikan Physics sebagai cara baru dalam memecahkan Puzzle.
